“There is an incessant influx of novelty into the world and yet we tolerate incredible dullness.”
With those words, Henry David Thoreau quite accurately summed up how most of us choose to live.
We tend to go through life doing the same old thing most of the time. Few of us dare to change.
We hang out with the same people, go to the same restaurants, read the same type of books and follow the same rules today as we did yesterday.
But there’s always something new to explore, understand, or enjoy.
Action – For the next two weeks, do one thing every day that’s new for you. It doesn’t have to be dramatic – like skydiving, zip lining or cave crawling.
Just find one novel way to engage in the world like taking a different route to work, joining a club or going somewhere different with the family.
In this world, there’s never a reason to be bored.
(Yes, that is my hubby in the picture – trust me, he is not bored!)
